Giving

At First Baptist Church we believe that giving should be a joyful response to a life changed by the gospel. We invite you to pray and reflect on what God has done for you in Christ that you may respond joyfully!

Online Giving

For every $100 you give: Credit/Debit Card charges 2.2% of your total transaction, plus 30 cents (Total Giving: $97.50)

As you can imagine, these fees add up when multiplied by greater amounts and over hundreds of gifts a month.

Setup a Recurring Gift by selecting a weekly or monthly amount. The donation will take place on the same day each month/week until you unsubscribe (below).  If you need assistance, please contact the church office at 434-447-4763.

If you would like to give a recurring gift in an amount not listed above, please contact us at fbcshva@gmail.com, or contact the office at 434-447-4763.

Why Should I Give Online?

Faithfully Honoring God
When you sign up to give online you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. The Bible teaches that we are to honor God with the “first fruits” of our labor (Proverbs 3:9). By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your first fruits are faithfully given back to God. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2)

Simplicity
You won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or send in an offering by mail when you’re on a trip.

Privacy and Security
Keeping your financial information secure is absolutely essential for online transactions. We use PayPal so you can trust to your transactions are kept secure.  PayPal uses encryption to help keep your online transactions guarded from start to finish.

Online Giving Privacy Policies
Your information is held securely in our secure servers. Your information will remain private and will never be given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled contributions. You can schedule new contributions at any time and can modify or cancel those contributions at any time prior to the date they are scheduled. If you have any problems or questions related to this, please contact us at giving@summitrdu.com.

Many banks offer their customers the ability to have funds automatically drafted from an account in order to be mailed to a recipient (such as a church) on a recurring basis. Please contact your personal bank if you wish to pursue this option to set up First Baptist Church as a new payee.

Weekend Services
Every weekend we offer an opportunity for you to bring your gift by placing it in the offering plate during our worship service. For your convenience, offering envelopes are available for your gift of cash.
