Dear First Baptist Church Family,
Sunday, October 6 will be a very special day of worship. We will ordain three deacons, Elizabeth Bishop, Angie Kellett, and Lisa Reese. The message will focus on the role of a deacon and the laying on of hands will be meaningful to these new deacons and to the church family. Pray for these, and all of your deacons. It has been my joy to work with the deacons during my interim pastorate.
I was pleased with the FCS Teacher and Staff Appreciation Sunday! I think the teachers and staff of our school felt special that Sunday. The worship service with our 3rd and 4th graders singing, the recognition of the teachers and staff, and the appreciation gift show how much the church family cares for our school. Lunch was fantastic. A meal always allows time for fellowship and for the building of new relationships. Thank you to all who made the day special.
“Drive a Ford For School” will be happening on Wednesday, October 9. Come drive a Ford! Bring your family and friends. We need 300 households to take a test drive. This is a wonderful fundraiser for the school and we want to make the best of it. So, let’s turn out to drive!
I am praying for you and the future of First Baptist Church! I see so much potential for growth, both spiritually and numerically. God has a vision for you! You will find it through prayer and through action. God speaks most clearly when we are praying and acting on the Kingdom work we see in front of us to do. Pray for the Pastor Search Committee. Pray for the next pastor. God will bring everything together as you seek Him in unity of spirit. I fully believe the promise of Ephesians 3:20 will be evident to you soon. You will be amazed by what God will do through you–First Baptist Church.
